The Ore Hill Trail leaves Cape Moonshine Road opposite the Atwell Hill Trail and crosses a level section of mud before ascending through a softwood forest to a junction about half a mile in where a side path leads R .1 miles to Ore Hill shelter. The main trail goes L and continues to ascend over the W shoulder of Sentinel Hill before descending to a col and crossing two old woods roads. The trail then climbs past an old beaver pond to a high spot, then crosses a gully and follows a narrow ridge briefly uphill. The E peak of Ore Hill is less than 50 yards ahead in the woods when the trail turns R and descends moderately to NH Route 25-C at the W edge of the power lines at 3.0 miles. The Appalachian Trail turns R on the road to cross the power lines, then follows the Wachipauka Pond Trail into the woods on the other side of the road.
