Description

From the parking lot, the trail passes under NH Route 16 in a culvert and turns R; ignore the Wildcat Ridge Trail which goes L. The wide path runs downstream along the Ellis River, note that there some wet spots which can be icy in cold weather. After .1 miles there is a stone balcony to the L which overlooks the falls from the top; unfortunately tree growth obscures the view.

The trail now becomes steep with stairs and switchbacks. After about 100 yards a junction is reached; the L fork leads slightly uphill to a viewpoint at the middle of the falls while the R fork descends to the bottom. The actual falls is some distance above where the trail hits the river, but even so you may feel the spray.

Off Season

Parking lot not plowed, but there are plowed pulloffs nearby on NH Route 16.

Map Notes: For some reason the USGS map doesn't show this trail although it shows the parking lot and falls
