From the parking lot, the Glen Boulder Trail follows the wide path to the rest rooms and continues beyond in much narrower form. It ascends to the base of a cliff which it once ascended up a gully, but now circles the base to the R and climbs to the junction with the Direttisma from the AMC Pinkham Notch Visitor Center at .4 miles. The trail next runs L along the clifftop then climbs moderately, crossing a cross-country ski trail and a brook. It then begins a steeper ascent and breaks out above treeline, and finally turns L to angle toward Glen Boulder which it reaches at 1.6 miles.
The trail now climbs steeply in the open to the ridge crest and enters forest again. The trail circles an unnamed ravine and comes out in the open again near the summit of Gulf Peak (sometimes called Slide Peak) at 2.6 miles, which overlooks the Gulf of Slides. The trail descends slightly into scrub at the col, and then climbs more steeply towards Boott Spur, crossing some grassy areas before coming out in the open permanently. The line of the cairns on the L skyline is the Davis Path, and the Glen Boulder Trail ends at its junction at 3.2 miles at the foot of an outcrop. Turn L for Mount Isolation and R for Boott Spur and Mount Washington.
Parking lot not plowed, but there are plowed pulloffs nearby on NH Route 16.
