Walk up the road beyond the gate, in about 200 feet the hiking trail leaves L, then soon turns R at another junction and begins to climb more steeply. The trail comes out by the garage and passes a radio building to reach the fire tower. Be sure to note where the trail starts if you wish to return that way.
There are 2 platforms on the fire tower for views, and if the observer isn't busy, they may invite you into the cab and explain how to detect fires.
