Description

From NH Route 113, the Col Trail follows a woods road for about .2 miles; this road is too rough for most cars. Where the road swings R, the trail leaves L and follows an overgrown road to the L of a large swamp. Leaving the swamp, the trail ascends steadily on another old road which is eroded and muddy. At .9 miles, it reaches the col and the junction L with the Ridge Trail which goes to the east peak of The Rattlesnakes. The two trails run together slightly downhill to the R to another junction, where the Ridge Trail goes R to the west peak of The Rattlesnakes. The Col Trail descends more steeply to the L, crosses a flattish area, then descends more steeply again. It then levels out and follows an old road a short distance to where the Pasture Trail enters R from the west peak of The Rattlesnakes at 1.2 miles. Follow the Pasture Trail straight ahead to reach Pinehaven Road and other trails.
