In its roughly 2100-mile length (the actual distance changing with each relocation), the Appalachian Trail contains some of the most outstanding sections of trail in the country, but it also contains other more ordinary sections needed to make a continuous path. The Atwell Hill Trail is one of the "other" sections, chiefly interesting to trailbaggers although insect lovers should note that mosquitoes linger here longer than most other trails.
