Because it has become too tiresome to revise this information on multiple pages when park fees or the URL of the official fee page change, I tried to summarize them here. If fees have been changed from those listed here, please post that in the forum or send e-mail.
Until they change the URL yet again, 2008 NH State Park Entry Fees
Day use fees are charged at most popular parks during the park operating season, and are on a per person basis. In 2008 the normal fee schedule was:
State historic sites charge higher fees than parks for non-residents but are free for residents in 2008, some beaches charge for parking rather than per person, and some sites don't charge at all. Before showing up with a vanload of teenagers, it might be wise to check with the park for current fees.
Most parks provide limited services during the off season, and do not charge fees then.
Camping in state parks is allowed only at campgrounds, and a fee is charged. The fee is per site but extra people on a site pay extra fees. Because state parks must be self-supporting, camping fees are similar to those in the private sector, although sites tend to be larger and more rustic than commercial sites. The camping fee includes park entry unlike some states.
