Discussion Guidelines and Rules
The discussion group is for use with the
New Hampshire Hikes and Walks web site.
Suggested uses of this discussion group are:
- Comments on articles or trail descriptions on the
New Hampshire Hikes and Walks web site.
- Comments on trails in New Hampshire not listed on the New Hampshire Hikes and Walks web site. Exception: new descriptions for posting on the site should be e-mailed to the
content manager.
- Bushwhack (off-trail route) descriptions are allowed although generally bushwhacks will not be described on the web site.
- Comments are appreciated. Is the description fine or are there errors? If you liked or disliked the trail, why? Someone else may like a feature you dislike or vice versa so please be specific.
- You must enter a user name but it need not be your real name. Please use the same name each time so other users can judge your postings as a whole.
The following uses are discouraged and will probably be removed:
- Questions on equipment or techniques which belong on a more general board such as rec.backcountry.
- Real-time trail information such as snow depth or brook crossings, to obtain critical mass these should be concentrated on fewer sites. One such site is

- Hiking events or requests for companions, see above. An exception will be made for opening ceremonies for new trails as discussion of trail locations.
VFTT Trips & Events
- Discussion of other states or other types of trails.
The following uses are contrary to the rules of our web hosting provider and are not allowed. They will be deleted when discovered by the content manager:
- Advertising or other commercial activity
- Posting of information without permission of its owner, whether copyrighted or not
- Pornography or sexually-oriented material, posts with excessive profanity, or those containing material likely to be offensive
- Stalking, harassing, or threatening any user of this forum
- Collection of names or e-mail addresses of users of this forum for spamming or similar purposes - this will be considered a Denial of Service attack by VoyForums and subject to criminal action
